KYC Re-usability
RendBit’s KYC approach emphasizes efficiency and user convenience by linking verified identity data to Stellar anchors. When users complete the KYC process during onboarding, their credentials are securely stored and tied to the payment anchor, such as LINKIO, enabling seamless verification for deposits, transfers, and swaps. SEP-10 is used to authenticate wallet ownership, ensuring that only the rightful account holder can access the wallet and execute transactions, without repeatedly redoing KYC for each operation.
From a business perspective, reusable KYC reduces operational overhead for financial institutions and anchor partners. Instead of verifying the same user multiple times for different services, institutions can rely on the anchor-linked KYC credentials verified during the initial onboarding. This streamlines processes, minimizes errors, and ensures compliance with local and international regulations for cross-border transactions.
Security and compliance remain central to this system. RendBit encrypts all KYC data, enforces selective disclosure, and provides access only to authorized parties. Even if users are offline, their verified KYC credentials remain valid for anchor-based transactions, allowing continuous operation while maintaining regulatory compliance. This combination of anchor-linked KYC and SEP-10 authentication creates a secure, seamless, and reusable identity framework for cross-border payments in Africa.
Note: LINKIO is a licensed and compliant Stellar anchor that facilitates fiat-to-crypto and crypto-to-fiat conversions. By linking KYC to LINKIO, RendBit ensures that all deposits, withdrawals, and cross-border transactions adhere to regulatory standards while maintaining a smooth user experience.
